A New Era
Chapter
It was a week later, and still no sign of Jared. I’ve been trying to run the whole coffee shop by myself, Chris, not being much help. I was very worried for Jared. Could he have died mysteriously, or was he just on a vacation with his family he didn’t tell us about? I was hoping it was the second answer. Since he’d been gone, business really picked up with the new buzz of the “Club Penguin Armies” My doubt has disappeared, there is Club Penguin Armies, the Ice Warriors are real. While overhearing people talking politics and the buzz about army news, I heard about a recent break in war. A war between 4 armies. 2 v 2. Ice Warriors and Army of CP, against the Light Troops and UMA. The conversation was fierce about who would win and the death count.
“The LT leaders are far more experienced than the ACP and IW Combined! This was will be a quick and swift one for Light Troops!”
“ARE YOU CRAZY!?!? The Ice Warriors are a well rounded, hard fighting machine and there’s no way LT can beat them.”
“Gentlemen, what about the UMA and ACP side of the fight. I heard there was heavy casualties for both armies on the battle of Alaska.”
“Your wrong Diddy, UMA was severely hurt during this war with estimated 4,500 casualties while ACP spared with only a thousand.”
“I heard totally different Tomatoe, from what I heard, both armies lost over 8,000 troops! A very bloody war.”
My eavesdropping was interrupted when Chris came asking for a break. I told him nicely to get back to work after his 2 minute break. I went outside to hang a “HELP WANTED” sign on the front of the coffee shop. I decided since Jared will be out for a bit I should hire two extra workers until the business returns to normal. It wasn’t long before two young men walked into the shop and applied for the work. Both of them were qualified, saying they worked in “Tom’s Tavern” before. Tom’s Tavern was located on the west side of town. Just another guy trying to make it though the world. The two men claimed to be the Johnson brothers. There was Aj Johnson, and Roy Johnson. It was closing time, so I quickly showed them the ropes on how to work the brewers, and make a few pastries They both took notes which surprised me. I gave them the aprons and told them to show up for work at 6:30 AM. The next morning, both boys were here by 6:20, which really impressed me. After a solid days work, I promoted Roy (Royilumbo) to Chief. I had other things to worry about than the coffee shop. I wanted to know what happened to King Jared, who mysteriously disappeared about a week ago. I went home and packed my bags full of clothes. I was going to find him. I had a thought that he might be at Sub Zero, in the war, with the Ice Warriors. With a bag full of warm clothes, food, and water, I walked out the door and confidently headed over to the train station. I boarded the “Arctic Express” and I was off to my little adventure.
