After a few days into leadership the Ice Warriors have risen back into the top 10. But this doesn’t mean we are out of the woods yet. As of right now we need to multi-task for the next few weeks in order to rise and stay that way permanently. Our two main goals will be to recruit and build a framework. All mods and owners need to step it up in order for us to achieve our goals in the end.
To start the framework phase, we need to go over a few issues.
- Mod/Owner Demotions
- Chat Abuse
- Site Workers
Mod/Owner Demotions: I have noticed that a good majority of mods/owners aren’t taking their ranks seriously. You are no longer a member. You have earned the privilege of moderating the chat and army after working hard for your rank. This means you are required to greet new troops that sign into the chat (some new recruits tend to have a weird Xat name with no ID). You need to tell them how to change and explain what we do and how fun IW is. At the same time, you must also make sure nobody is breaking any rules (swearing, advertising, spamming, etc). The only people who have an exception to these rule are new recruits. You need to WARN them before you kick or ban them. Don’t take the spamming rule too seriously unless someone is obviously doing it on purpose. Also, mods/owners should be recruiting the most people out of anyone else in the army. Whether its during a recruiting session or at a random time of day, ask people to join whenever you have the chance.
NOTE: If any mods are caught swearing then they will be demoted for up to 3 days (possibly longer if the swearing continues).
Chat Abuse: Lately I have heard reports of mods and owners (especially owners) abusing people on the chat. Because of this I will be revoking the relaxed rules on the chat. This means that the chat rules will be in place for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The relaxed rules were meant for people to have a good time on the chat, not to abuse troops while the rules are lenient. As of TODAY if anyone gives me proof of a mod/owner abusing their power, then I will personally demoted the abuser.
Site Workers: Working on this website is a JOB, not a game. People who WORK on this site are required to publish posts and maintain the site pages. In this point in time it is crucial to update the ranks page and add new troops to it whenever they apply. Also, try to avoid making short posts unless it is actually important.
NOTE: Owners should edit the chat scroller and add the next event to it with the CORRECT information on a daily basis.
I know it sounds like I’m strict, but I’m just doing my best to help the army survive. There are a lot of holes that need to be filled, and it’s going to take time and cooperation in order to get the job done. In the end I promise that we’ll be back to our original spot in the top 3.
