Hey IW, Raven here!
Today, I come to you with yet another chapter of my new story. I hope you all enjoy it! :3
Chapter 3: The Situation
The eight Ice Warriors soon found themselves in what appeared to be a cafeteria. There was a selection of foods, and one of the green creatures that they now knew as the Polygon Clones was serving it. It was wearing a bizarre looking chef hat all the while. “Does anybody know what just happened?” Gtu asked as he was assigned a seat.
“Beats me…” replied Barry, “All I know is that the giant floating guy WASN’T natural.”
Snow wandered over to a chair that was between Guido and Gtu. He sat down, heaving a sigh as he did so. “He said something about sending someone to explain what was going on, didn’t he?”
“That would be me.”
Everyone turned to the voice to see a woman clad in shining gold and silver garments. She had long blonde hair and wore a silver tiara, along with an icy blue dress. “Hello, everyone. I am Frozen, the goddess of brawl.” Everyone except the unamused Maid gasped in awe. Barry even got to the point of bowing to her. “There’s no need for formalities.” the goddess giggled. Barry stood up, embarrassed, and heard Purple stifle a laugh.
“So…what exactly is going on?” Oregan asked curiously.
“I’d be glad to.” Frozen answered gratefully. “However, I suggest you all grab a bite to eat. After all, I assume you’re hungry after everything that’s happened today.”
“THANK YOU!!” Guido yelled, darting to the counter.
“Finally, food!” Raven cheered, staring hungrily at the chef Polygon. However, her face fell. “But…I didn’t bring my wallet…”
“It’s all free.” Frozen replied. Raven’s face lit up, and she let out an ecstatic scream. She jumped in front of the counter, accidentally knocking over Guido in the process. Oops… she thought as Guido got up and the two stared at the food that lay before them.
“GIVE US EVERYTHING!!” they yelled. Everyone stared in surprised at how hungry they both were, but shrugged it off when they were served their food. Soon, everyone else got their food as well. Snow managed to get some pasta, while Barry settled on the fish. Gtu and Oregan both got roast meals, and Maid ate a steak. Purple got a bit of spaghetti, while Guido and Raven’s plate was so overflowed with food that they had to share it.
After about 30 minutes, everybody was finished. “Are you done?” Frozen’s voice suddenly chimed into the silence of everybody eating. Everyone nodded. “So…what would you like to know first?” she asked, drinking a glass of a golden liquid.
“Well, why were the Ice Warriors chosen out of every other army in CPAC?!” Maid asked, now a bit more calm at the sight of Frozen.
“Well. You see, every army in the CPAC has their own world. If an army doesn’t get enough care, the world either turns into a large wasteland and dies, or the uncared army world merges into another world. Each year, a random world is chosen, as are eight warriors.”
“Different worlds?” Purple asked curiously.
Frozen merely nodded. “Yes. All of the worlds are apart of the Armyverse, a universe that contains way more worlds than you’d expect, both large and small, including yours.”
Everyone, even Maid, seemed to accept this pretty well. Raven asked, “So what world are we on?”
“This world is known as the Klondike Realm. Yes, this world has a weird name, but I find it intriguing as well. The Klondike Realm is in the center of the Armyverse, surrounded by the worlds of each and every CPAC Army. The one who created all of this was Tes, who was the tall floating person who you saw earlier. That’s…pretty obviously why he’s also known as the God of Creation.” the goddess summarized.
Guido decided to speak next. “Why exactly did he bring us all here, though?”
Frozen sighed, and put down her glass, which was now empty. “He has a love for fighting. Tes came up with an idea to take people from different armies and have them fight against one another. He’s done it for the past sixty four years.”
Maid stood up. “So…all we have to do is compete in this stupid tourney?” Frozen nodded. The Ice Warrior shook her head, and walked to the door, ready to leave. “I don’t believe you.” she muttered, “What’s the catch? Do we fight to the death, or what?”
“There is no catch. The only exceptions are that you aren’t allowed to tell anyone about this OR go home for any time until the tourney is over, which will only be a few days. If word were to get out, it would disrupt the worlds. It’s our rules.” Frozen explained, lightly walking to the door, no sound in every step she took. “Well, I suppose I will leave you eight alone for a while. The Polygons will fetch you when your rooms have been arranged.” The goddess then exited.
There was a moment of silence.
“Well, I guess we should just talk about times of the past again?” Snow suggested. Everybody else nodded in agreement, and a long conversation started.
“And that is how RC and I saved many members of IW.” finished Barry. It had been about an hour since Frozen had left, and everyone was talking up a storm. Well, almost everyone.
“Wow…how wasn’t I there for that??” Purple gasped in amazement.
“Yeah, and I thought Waterkid was evil.” Raven agreed, turning to Guido. “Hey, what have you done so far in the Ice Warriors?” she asked in wonder.
The boy seemed a little taken back. “Well…nothing yet…I just hang out with my friends and fellow Ice Warriors. I train, I study, I help new recruits…”
“Oh…ok!” the cat girl replied before turning silent again. Before anything else could be said, the Polygons came.
“I assume it’s time to rest up?” Oregan asked the green creatures. One of them dipped their heads, as if to say yes. He then let out a yawn. “Well that’s good then, I’m actually quite tired.”
“Maybe it’s from the food you ate.” Snow joked before he and the rest of the group were lead out of the cafeteria. Then, a few minutes later, everyone was assigned to a room, two in each one.
In Room One were Snow and Barry. They’d been assigned a room with a bunk bed. Snow was laying on the bottom one, until he heard a sigh from above. “You still awake, Barry?” he quietly questioned.
“Yeah..” came the response from below.
“What’s the matter?”
A long pause occurred, before Barry finally spoke. “It doesn’t matter…just thinking about someone. good night.” Snow was still extremely curious about this “someone” that Barry happened to be thinking about. He made a note to himself to ask the next morning.
Next, in Room Two, were Raven and Guido. Raven was busy sleeping on the higher bunk, while Guido lay awake on the bottom one. She heard rustling and seemed to notice that he was awake, and opened one eye. “Can’t you sleep?” he asked.
“No.” Guido answered, “I’m just used to being in a large group, that’s all.”
Raven seemed slightly surprised. “You’re not alone…” she stated in an attempt to help him, before blushing. Guido didn’t respond, so Raven just assumed he had fallen asleep, before going back to sleep herself.
In Room Three were Gtu and Maid. They didn’t have bunks, but separate beds. Maid slept silently, but Gtu was still wide awake. He took another look at the girl. She seems a bit impolite… he thought, But her nature? Maybe I should ask her tomorrow.
Finally, in Room Four were the last two, Purple and Oregan. Like Gtu and Maid, they had separate beds, but both of them were awake. “Hey, Oregan?” Purple whispered from across the room. Oregan turned to look at her, and Purple could barely see his face through the night darkness. “Do you think there’s more to this than we think?”
Oregan shook his head. “You heard what Frozen said. Just a few days, then we go home. All we need to do is take part in this…thing, and keep our mouths shut.” he reminded her before going into a deep sleep. Purple stayed up for a bit longer, as she couldn’t help but feel that there was more than just this tourney to come. However, she didn’t get much time to ponder before sleep took over her.
All eight of the fighters were now asleep and awaiting tomorrow.
Outside of their rooms stood Frozen, who had a worried look on her face. Her eyes moved to a book she was carrying. It was brown and tattered, and it had the strange symbol from before on it; a circle with two lines making a cross in the corner. She then opened it up to two random pages, and there, spread on them, were images of the eight she had spoken to.
“It’s finally happening…” she whispered to herself, her voice filled with sadness.

In the “I don’t believe you.” part, Maid isn’t saying that she doesn’t believe in Tes or Frozen. She doesn’t believe what Frozen is saying (that they ONLY have to compete in the tourney).
