Plans for the Summer: Step 1

By next week I will be fully done with school, which means I will completely return to the Ice Warriors as a full time Advisor. Upon my return, I will be planning and leading multiple events to help bring us back to the top 3 so that we can there throughout the rest of the year. In order to do this, I need full participation from ALL Ice Warriors. Over the past few months we have been stuck at the bottom of the top 10 due to the lack of involvement from everyone. All Ice Warriors NEED to make an effort to help us rise back up. Here are a few key jobs to do for different groups of troops.

Owners:

  • Make more posts: If you want to plan an event, then talk to Alb or I (unless you’re a 2ic). Now that the tournament is inching towards the finals, Alb and I need to make specific events that will be the key in our victory. But that doesn’t mean owners can plan their own events, whether scheduled OR unscheduled. You can also post about tips for new recruits, or even have different banner/video making contests to help recruit, or even a recruiting contest in general.
  • Take a leadership role: You’re an owner! One of the reasons why you became an owner was to lead other troops. It is your duty to watch over the chat and make sure everything is in order to avoid any unnecessary chaos.
  • Welcoming troops: All Ice Warriors should welcome troops with respect, but owners should be setting an example for our army when new troops enter the chat.

Moderators:

  • Take a minor leadership role: Like owners, it is your job to moderate the chat to avoid any unnecessary chaos.
  • Respect: Although this is important for ALL Ice Warriors, it is especially important for moderators to greet new troops and to welcome them into the army with respect.
  • Abuse of power: If you KNOW someone is a new troop, then don’t automatically ban them if they break a rule. You should FIRST warn them and tell them not to break the rules again. If they continue, then you should kick them and warn them again. If they continue on purpose, then you can ban them.

Members (on IW chat):

  • Power in the army: Although members don’t have as much power as Moderators or Owners, they can still make a HUGE difference in the army. Members on IW chat make up a majority of the army, which is why it is their job to do their part in helping the army grow.
  • Recruiting: Members can recruit in MANY different ways. They can ask their friends to join, ask people on CP, ask people on social media, etc. Typically, when a new recruit comes to the chat and people are respectful towards them, then they will most likely stay for a much longer period of time.
  • Respect: Like the above bullet, respecting new recruits is a key way in having them stay longer in the army. When I first joined IW I was respectful towards everyone, which is why I made a lot of friends that I can still remember, even after 6 years.

Throughout the upcoming weeks we need to give it our all in order to reclaim our original spot in the top 3. Although I have the power to recruit a lot of people into the army, I will need EVERYONES help to do their part in recruiting and being friendly towards the new troops to warmly welcome them into the army.

Summer is finally here, so let’s get this show on the road.

bye for now,
