The Tale Of Mara (PART 15)

I was sitting next to the tree. It was getting dark, there was silence, you could only hear the sound of the burning wood from the fire Alicia and Tes made. They sat down and said nothing for a while. I took out the broken phone I got from the crash. It was mashed up and it seemed impossible to fix.

”That’s the phone Icey gave you right?” Tes asked.

”Yes, but it’s not in much use now. I have no idea how to fix it.” I answered.

”Maybe I can try fixing it. Dad used to fix things like these all the time. He showed me some things.”

”Well enjoy yourself.” I said as I handed the phone to Tes.

”I’ll get my flashlight and see if I can fix it.”

Tes went to his bag and started working on the phone.

”Mara about what you said earlier. It’s not true that I don’t appreciate that I have a brother. After our parents died Tes s the only family I have. Tes can be a real pain, but he’s my twin.” Alicia said.

”I understand. We didn’t start of well. I’m not as bad as I look. I sed to be more loosened up but…” I stopped.

”But what? What happened?”

”I lost my father. He was killed by the Light Troops. Icey came to rescue me and I owe him my life. That’s why I want to prove that I can save lives just like he does. I like IW a lot and things were great. There was this kid called Chris. Let’s just say we got into a fight and she got angry. She murdered my friend and she was banished ever since.”

”That’s horrible. You sure had a rough time. And that Chris person sounds like a b****”

”Yeah I did, but things get better eventually and yeah Chris was a b****.” I was interrupted by Tes.

”I FIXED IT, I FIXED IT!” He yelled.

”That’s great Tes!” I said.

just as things looked great the phone rang. Tes looked at the screen.

”IT’S ICEY! WHAT DO WE DO. HE’S GOING TO BE MAD AND…”

I stood up and grabbed the phone from Tes.

”Calm down yo chicken I’ll handle this.”

I picked up the phone.

”Mara what happened? I’ve been trying to reach you for the past hour.” Icey said.

”Oh well we had some issues and the phone wasn’t working, but Tes managed to fix.”

”Issues? Is everything alright?” Icey asked again.

”Yes of course Icey everything is under control. We just stopped for the night to take a short break and we will leave tomorrow morning.”

” Ok call me again when you reach the LT base, it shouldn’t take long as long as you continue driving.”

”Yes ok Icey I’ll call you tomorrow. Bye.” I said as I hang up.

I sat back down and left the phone.

”Why didn’t yo call for help?” Alicia asked.

”If I did you two would have been in trouble. I’m sure we can fix atleast one motorcycle. Tes seems handy and I know my own motorcycle. We should be able to reach the base in time.”

”You didn’t tell on us. Why?” Tes wondered.

”Friends help each other out.” I said.

”Now let’s go to bed we will wake up early tomorrow so we can try to fix the motorcycle. Good night.”

”Good night.” said Tes.

”Night” said Alicia.

I laid down on the ground and used my backpack as a pillow. As the fire slowly went out I fell asleep. I woke up early in the morning. To my surprise Alicia and Tes were already up.

”Morning Mara. Did you sleep well?” said Tes.

”You can’t sleep very well on the ground, but it wasn’t so bad.” I answered.

”Here’s your breakfast.” Alicia said as she threw me and apple.

I caught it and took a bite. The twins were really trying to be helpful and I really appreciated it. We ate soe of the food we had packed and got ready to go back to the spot of the crash. We walked trough the forest and we reached the road. The motorcycle parts were spread and did not seem very good. My motorcycle didn’t seem as damage as the other one but it didn’t look like it was in any condition to work.

”Well we better get to work. We can use some parts from the other motorcycle to fix mine and maybe we can make it work.”

We all started working. Alicia wasn’t as handy as her brother but she helped a lot. Tes put the pieces together and worked on the engine. I guided them and helped build it back. I knew every inch of my motorcycle. I still had so spare fuel just in case. It wasn’t easy but we worked hard to fix it. I finally felt that we were acting as a team.

”Well this took a while, now let’s see if it works.” I said.

I sat on the motorcycle and tried to start it. It worked like it was brand new again.

”We did it, we fixed it!” I said as I high-fived the twins.

”Great job guys. I’ll drive, now let’s head for LT base. If we hurry we will be there before sunset.”

Tes and Alicia got on the motorcycle. It didn’t have much room for three people, but we managed to fit on it. It was peaceful, no sign of Light Troops or anyone else. We drove for hours. Finally I stopped.

”What’s wrong Mara?” Tes asked.

”We’re close. We have to leave the motorcycle here so we are not spotted by any LT.”

I hid the motorcycle in the bushes and covered it with leaves. We got our supplies and walked into the forest. We reached a small hill. Tes climbed first, then Alicia and then me. When Tes reached the top he stopped and looked forward. Alicia did the same and when I reached I could not believe my eyes. There was a deserted area, the trees were cut off the grass was gone. There was a giant base. It was colored in black with a yellow stripe in the middle. It has the LT symbol on it and a giant chimney that was smoking. LT troops were everywhere, making weapons, taking away prisoners, working on Death Tanks. It was worse than anything I had ever seen. The three of us were shocked from the look and the only thing I cold say was.

”We’re here…”

Hallo my dear potato heads. Now I know what you are thinking ”MARABUMARU Y WAS DER NO TAL UUF MARU FR 1 WEEK”. Well here’s the answer dear chicken. I needed a short break from the story, but now it is back to its regular schedule every other day. I hope you licked this chapter and yes there’s cussing and if you don’t like it well no one is making you read this story in the first place. Trust me if I did not try to not cuss there would have been a curse word after every third word lol. anyways have a nice day. Cheese.
