IW Xmas Story!

Hey IW, Raven here!

Well, I’ve finally come to you all with another story. I guess you could call this a Christmas gift to all of you from me. I know the plot is a little bit dumb (and the ending is a little sucky in my opinion), but hey, I hope it’s not too bad. Here’s a little story filled with action, randomness and…horror? I hope you all enjoy it! Merry Christmas, happy Hanukah, happy Boxing Day (or whatever else you celebrate) and happy New Year!

It was another Christmas Eve in the CPA Central. Most of the larger armys’ members were exhausted and out cold from bunches of training for upcoming events such as the Christmas Chaos Tourney. One of the armies, the Ice Warriors, had most of their members asleep in their dorms, awaiting the festive morning of Christmas Day. MOST of their members.

Ice Warriors Building / December 24th, 2014 / 10:51 PM / Mittens’ Point of View

Mittens sat on her bed, tapping her foot quietly against the floor. She literally couldn’t sleep, no matter what she tried. She eventually decided to do the first thing that came to her mind; which was just listening to the radio. However, the only things that were on each station were announcements from the CPAC and SMAP. No music. So, she changed the channel over to a random station.

“Breaking news.” the reporter, who Mittens recognized as Funks, announced. “A possessed and killer Santa Claus has recently been spotted around Sub Zero. All leaders and high-ranked members in any army, specifically the Ice Warriors, need to make sure that their troops are kept very safe this Christmas, as this Santa has been proven to be deadly. That’s all the news we have for now. CPAC hopes you have a fun Christmas!” A possessed Santa Claus? Oooo, I’m so scared. Mittens thought to herself sarcastically, not believing in the news that much. Her thinking was interrupted when she heard a knock on her door. She quickly turned off the radio and hurried over to the entrance, opening the door as she did so. Standing in the doorway were four of her friends; Maid, Rockz, Snow and Chris. She had invited them over for a small and secret party. “Great, you all managed to come.” Mittens cheered with a satisfied smile as she beckoned them to come in. They all did, and sat on her bed. “So…now that everyone’s here, what should we do?” she asked, looking at her friends.

Maid turned around, her mouth already stuffed full with candy. “I KNOW!!” she shouted, “We should play Truth or Dare!” Mittens stared with confusion at her friends, and they glanced back at her weirdly.

Chris shrugged, and looked at Maid. The look on his face was a little bit awkward (from the way Maid had just acted) at first, but it then turned serious. “NO!” he replied, “Do you remember what happened last time?! Mittens dared me to dress up like a clown and sing ‘Baby’ by Justin Bieber. Then she recorded it and put it on YouTube!”

Mittens snickered, and Rockz and Snow burst out laughing. “That was SO funny though!” Snow managed to cough out between laughs.

As Snow said that, Chris jumped on top of him, pinning him down by the wrists. “No, it wasn’t! Everyone saw it!” Chris screamed and began slapping Snow harshly in the face over and over again. Rockz immediately stopped laughing and backed away next to Maid. “Even Albc and Gtu began calling me Justin!” Chris finished as he got off Snow.

“Fine. Be that way. Just be happy that you got so internet famous.” Maid muttered in a not so amused tone. Mittens knew that Maid didn’t normally act like that, so she assumed that the girl was on some sort of sugar rush. She calmly replied to the somewhat annoyed Maid, “Okay, any other ideas?”

“Hey, did you guys hear about that possessed serial killer Santa or whatever the CPAC was talking about on the radio earlier? The one that’s roaming around our capital, Sub Zero?” Rockz asked, having finally recovered from Chris’ sudden attack.

Mittens, like everybody else, turned to look at him. Her sights turned to Maid though as she let out a loud gasp. “What, is that someone who goes around killing CEREAL?!” she questioned worriedly.

Mittens slapped her hand on her forehead and heaved a sigh of annoyance as Rockz replied, “Ugh…no.”

“Okay, good.” Maid sighed with relief, “My Lucky Charms are safe.” The hyped up girl stared at everybody in the room once more with a large, goofy grin on her face before going back to stuffing her mouth with candy.

“Anyway,” Rockz continued, his voice suddenly having a creepy tone to it, “Everybody says the Santa killer wears a mask. And no, not a mask that has his jolly face on it. One that is monstrous.” Rockz had obviously gotten everyone’s attention as he explained the possessed Santa. “And when he comes to your house…he’ll knock on the door. Then he gets in. When he gets in, this killer Santa will then make sure everyone in the building is DEAD. He leaves the corpses of his victims and blood everywhere, before escaping up the chimney as if nothing had happened but present delivering and cookie eating.”

Suddenly, Mittens heard a pounding on the door. As she turned her head, she could see Maid out of the corner of her eye, her head bolting up from the candy bowl; eyes widened. “Holy crap…” she squeaked, “It’s him…”

Mittens could barely hear Snow as he quietly giggled to himself once more, almost like two girls sharing funny secrets. “Pfft, no it’s not!” he smirked.

Mittens turned her head fully and looked back at the boy. “Okay. You go answer the door then.”

“What?! NO!”

“I thought you said it wasn’t him.”

“Yeah, I-I did.”

“Then why can I see a fearful look in your eyes?”

Mittens’ bickering with Snow went on for a few minutes. Rockz was just watching the argument with amusement, Chris looked like he was daydreaming and Maid’s head was back in the candy bowl; none of them bothered to step in. Finally, Snow and Mittens came to a conclusion. “F-Fine.” Snow finished as he lowered his head in defeat, a slight stammering in his voice.

Mittens smiled brightly and grabbed Rockz, Maid and Chris by the hands, dragging them over to behind Snow, who was now standing at the door. As far as she could tell, Snow was shaking out of his skin he was so nervous. “G-Guys…I don’t know about this…” he stuttered.

Mittens grunted under her breath. She walked over to him, putting her hand on his shoulder reassuringly. “Just open the damn door…” she hissed, “I mean, maybe it’s nobody.” Snow ignored her comment and slowly walked closer to the door. His walking was becoming shakier with every footstep. Everybody stared with wonder as Snow timidly turned the door-knob as if he was in slow-motion, and the door opened.

“I have a pizza delivery for the Ice Warriors, Room 55.”

Once again, Snow burst out in chuckles. “Oh come on guys, it’s just the Pizza Guy!” he laughed, his voice back in its normal relaxed tone. Mittens beamed with jollity, as did everyone else. However, it wasn’t until she heard a groan from the pizza guy, and a thump. She turned, eyes widened in surprise. There, in the doorway, was the pizza guy; blood pouring out from beneath him. Standing above him was the killer Santa, holding a bloody knife. She covered her ears as Snow screamed and slammed the door, locking it clean shut.

“OH MY GOD! He killed the pizza guy!” Chris yelped as Snow darted over to the group, panting heavily.

“Did you lock the door?!” Rockz asked worriedly, attempting to remain calm. Snow simply nodded, still too in shock to say anything. “Okay, good. Mittens, are there any open windows in this dorm?”

Mittens shrugged, the look on her face stressed. “I don’t know!” she yelled. Just as she yelled out the last three words, the lights began flickering. She looked up at the light, and it turned off completely. Everything was now pitch black; in her eyes that is.

“Who turned out the lights?!” Chris gasped.

“What did I just say?! I don’t know! He must’ve cut off the power from one of the bottom floors of the building. Now calm down a little, you’re getting as bad as Maid.”

Maid finally contributed to the conversation again at the mentioning of her name. “Hey, I heard that!” she grumbled, her mouth still full of candy, “Anyways, if I die, I want to be buried with my iPhone!”

“Wait…why?” Mittens asked, looking at her with confusion.

“What? That way I could play Angry Birds even if I’m dead. I think that idea is pretty clever.”

“ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Maid, you must be on a massive sugar high. There’s a killer- er- killer SANTA in this building. And who knows?! He might even be on this floor again! And we’re talking about Angry Birds-“ Mittens suddenly stopped her rant when she turned to look at Snow for his opinion. “Oh my god…” she murmured, her heart beating out of her chest at what she saw.

“Snow…RUN.” Chris instructed, talking in the same tone as Mittens. Mittens listened as Snow asked why. Chris replied with a simple “He’s BEHIND YOU.” Snow quickly whirled around. Chris was correct. The killer Santa could barely be seen, his knife shining like a gem in the darkness. However, before Snow could react, he fell to the ground, the loud thud of his body echoing through the dorm room. He had been stabbed by the killer. At least, that’s what Mittens saw.

The Santa stood there, a pool of Snow’s blood forming at his feet. “Run.” Rockz mumbled immediately. Everybody dashed off in different directions as Rockz unlocked the door.

Mittens sprinted swiftly through the hallways for quite a while. She soon found herself on the bottom floor; in the kitchen, hidden with Maid behind a bench. “This is crazy.” she whispered to her friend.

“I know…” Maid replied, “And I never even got to finish the last level of Angry Birds.” Mittens silently dove on top of her, covering her mouth with one hand. “Would you stop going on about that game?!” she hissed quietly, “Nobody plays it anymore! Everyone is into Five Nights at Freddy’s and Candy Crush these days. And, there’s a killer in this building and that’s all you care about?”

Maid let out several ‘mmf!’ noises for a few brief seconds, but she eventually nodded. Mittens took her hand away from her friend’s mouth. “Yeah, but that’s not all I care about. I mean-I care for food…a-and fighting!” Maid retorted as soon as she was able to speak again. She watched as Maid peered above the bench, looking at the tables of the cafeteria. Her eyes widened; she had found something. Mittens looked in the direction she was looking in. “My phone!” she exclaimed, in which Mittens let out a ‘Shh!” in reply. Maid was right though; her phone could be seen on the table closest to the bench. She must’ve left it at dinner on accident. “I have to get it!”

“What?! No! Don’t risk your life for your stupid phone!” Mittens muttered stubbornly. As tempting as it is to grab it… she finished her opinion in her thoughts.

“We need it though! If I could call someone, like one of the leaders who have weapons in their dorms, then…we could survive this!”

“Maid, don’t!”

“I have to at least try. Besides, it’s not that far away. I’ll be careful, I swear.” Mittens opened her mouth to protest, but Maid had already stood up. She silently tiptoed towards the table it was on as Mittens watched in fear. Eventually, she got her hands on the phone.

“Quick! Come back!” Mittens whispered loudly. Maid nodded, but something suddenly seemed to appear behind her. ‘Maid…RUN!” Mittens’ voice turned from a whisper to a scream.

“He’s behind me…isn’t he?” Maid asked calmly as she began walking towards Mittens. She took a few steps, but collapsed. The killer Santa stood before her fallen body with blood dripping off his knife, just like he had with Snow. Mittens could see the mark that the knife had made in her back.

“N-No…” Mittens gasped, tears coming to her eyes. She shook off the feeling though, and noticed that the Santa wasn’t looking at her. In fact, his attention was turned to someone else. Mittens could barely see the figure of Chris running across the room. The Santa killer walked after him at a medium-fast pace. Mittens quickly rushed after them eventually finding herself at the weapon cabinet, which was on the top floor. She attempted to open the door, but it was locked. Chris and the possessed Santa ran right past her. Judging by the way Chris was going, they’re headed for… Mittens thought this through for a moment. The ROOF?! Before Mittens could run up there and help, she could hear footsteps above her. There wasn’t much she could do now.

She could easily hear Chris’ protests and cries for help. “N-No…” he spluttered. Mittens listened as the footsteps moved more and more towards the end of the hallway. Chris was probably on the edge of the roof by now. “Please don’t do this.” he inveighed, his voice now sounding like he was about to cry.

That’s it! Mittens thought, I need to get over there. She sped through the halls at an incredible speed, eventually reaching the balcony. She jumped up and clung onto the edge of the roof, pulling herself up. As she got up there, however, she was too late. A few meters away from her, Mittens could see Chris, slowly leaning back until he finally fell back off the roof. She screamed as he fell, and rushed off the roof, jumping onto the balcony and going back inside. The killer slowly followed her from behind, leaving a path of blood from his knife.

Mittens ran down flight after flight of stairs until she found herself on the second floor, which was where the Hospital was located. The first thing she heard was a gasp and the words, “Mittens…was that Chris?” Mittens looked over at one of the hospital beds. She could see Rockz hiding under it, his head peeping out from beneath.

Another thump was suddenly heard, coming from outside. “That was him. He’s dead…” Mittens muttered hopelessly, finally letting a single tear roll down her cheek as she crawled under the bed next to Rockz.

“Don’t say that.” He replied as he handed her a tissue from his pocket of his dark blue jacket from the Ice Warriors uniform.

Mittens just smiled her thanks and wiped up her tears as innocently as a toddler, but replied to his comment with aggression. “But why wouldn’t I say that?! We both know it’s true. He couldn’t have survived a fall that big.” Rockz said nothing as Mittens made her point. He just sighed quietly. “It’s just the two of us now.” she continued, “If we could somehow break a window or sneak through the door, maybe we could make it.” “But we’ll be seen!”

“Who knows, we might get lucky tonight.”

Rockz looked away and nodded, as if he were saying ‘Fine.’. He stood up. The boy then started to slowly walk away from the bed. “I’ll go first.” he volunteered, “I’ll try to be quick.”

“Wait-“ Mittens started to say. Rockz whipped around to look at her once more. “Good luck.” The girl said, a little bit of hope coming to her voice. She crawled out from underneath the bed, and sat on top of the blankets, watching Rockz as he snuck away without another word. He hid behind something every now and again, but as he reached the door, a scream was heard. Mittens hid back under the bed in an instant, knowing what had just happened. The killer Santa had gotten to him.

Tears absolutely streamed down Mittens’ face this time. She cried loudly, hoping that somebody-anybody- would hear her and come to find her. She had no weapons, so there wasn’t much she could do. The Santa killer turned to face her. She looked up. “No…no, NO!” she cried, coming out from under the bed and sprinting past Rockz’s body and the killer, heading for the door. She attempted to open it, but it was locked. Mittens continued pounding on the door, still crying like crazy. “Come on…OPEN! Please!!” she bawled. The possessed Santa came striding towards her, knife in hand. He stopped when he was about a ruler-length away from her. “PLEASE, DON’T!” she screeched, backing up against the door. The Santa froze in place, and was motionless.

Mittens looked at the Santa, awaiting him to suddenly pounce on her and pierce his knife through her chest. However, instead, the lights were turned on. The sights she saw were an absolute shock.

“Surprise!” a male voice said from the back of the room. Sitting on one of the beds was Snow, looking as great as ever.

“W-What?” Mittens choked, “Snow? But you’re meant to be dead!” She looked back at the killer Santa as he laughed a laugh that was…feminine? He removed his mask. Well, actually, that he was a she. “RAVENPAW?! You’re meant to be asleep!” Mittens gasped.

“Well, I’m not the only one who was the ‘killer’!” Raven said with a smile, “Come in, sister!” Another person with the exact same disguise as Raven came into the room. She took off her mask, and revealed herself as Ravenwing. The Raven Sisters cracked up together in unison.

“This was just a big prank.” Maid grinned from behind. Mittens whirled around in surprise. “And you fell for it.”

“A PRANK?! I THOUGHT YOU WERE ALL DEAD!”

Chris crawled out from beneath another hospital bed. He walked over to Mittens, laughing like a maniac as he did so. “I wanted to get you back for what you did with the Truth or Dare Justin Bieber thing last year. The six of us in this room all agreed to to do it. Snow, Rockz, Maid and I all acted scared so it would look unsuspicious.” he explained.

“B-But…all of you were stabbed by the possessed Santa- uh -I mean, Ravenpaw and Ravenwing. And Chris- you fell off the roof!”

Chris smiled smugly. “Katie and Kyle helped me set up a few mattresses at the bottom. I fell onto that. Plus, the knife was plastic and the blood was fake. Ravenpaw ‘killed’ the people who were closer to the bottom of the building, who were Rockz and Maid. Ravenwing took on the top floors, ‘killing’ Snow and I.” Chris explained, making quotation marks with his hands every time he said the word ‘killing’, “And we even got Barry to be the pizza guy!” Barry then entered the room (still dressed in his pizza guy outfit) and ripped off his fake moustache and stripped off his apron so he only had a striped t-shirt and trousers on. He then smiled casually and waved.

“You all scared me SO MUCH.” Mittens exhaled lightly, still in awe from what had just played out. “You all must watch out for next year. Did you guys even force Funks to announce the possessed Santa thing on the CPAC Radio Station earlier?”

Ravenwing shook her head. “No, that part is actually true. There actually is a killer Santa wandering through Sub Zero. But he’s not in this building, don’t worry. Now; who’s ready to open some Christmas presents? The sun is starting to rise!” she cheered.

“ME! Come on guys, let’s go!” Snow ran over to the open door of the hospital. He turned to look at Mittens, who wasn’t following him. Nobody else was coming either. “Come on guys, what are you waiting for?” he questioned.

Mittens gazed at him, eyes widened in fear. “Uh…Snow?” she asked, staring at the Santa behind him, which had an evil smirk on his face and was covered in scars.

“What?” the boy asked, looking at what she was looking at. Everything was silent for many brief moments as the killer came closer and closer to him.

Snow’s scream suddenly echoed through the halls of the building.
