The Tale Of Mara (PART 10)

As Icey walked out to the front yard Alb and I stayed.

”Mara, you warn the troops I have to go tell the other owners,” Alb explained.

I went through the hallway as I was telling the others,

”Meeting in the front yard.  Come on guys gather up in the front yard, Icey is making a meeting.”

As I told everyone I saw my friend Kylex in the crowd.

”Mara what’s going on? What is this meeting about?” he asked.

”You’ll find out here, It’s really important. Now I have to go see you int he yard.” I answered him walking through the crowd that was headed for outside.

As I continued telling people the owners came out of a room.

”Alright mob get headed outside.” Honk said as he was walking towards everyone.

”Come on Mara” Alb said.

Soon we all walked outside. Every Ice Warrior was standing in front of Icey as he stood there with a serious look. The owners stood beside him. From a noisy crowd filled with unanswered questions soon it was silent. Icey started talking.

”Troops, I’m afraid this meeting won’t bring good news. I made this group to protect everyone. So we can be a family, so we can live together and train to protect ourselves and each other from the evil and danger that the Light Troops have caused. I made it so we stay out of the war and so we stay hidden. But now…everything changes. The Light Troops want to ruin what we have made and attack us. To take away everyone,” Icey announced.

Soon he crowd wasn’t silent any more. The troops sounded worried.

”You won’t let them take us right Icey?” a voice from he crowd said.

”No I won’t let that happen. I have a plan, but I can’t do it alone. We have 2 months until the LT do their move so we have to do it before them. If we attack them, they would never expect it because they think we’re merely kids. We can sabotage one of their bases in the nearest town.”

Icey was interrupted by Honk.

”Err sorry to interrupt you Icey, but let’s assume the plan works. Then what? We can’t possibly win a war with them. We would be outnumbered in every war.”

”That is correct Honk. That’s why we must contact the ACP.”

The crowd stared talking again. People we’re saying the ACP was nearly a made up story.

”They are real. Gord confirmed. He has seen them, and if we can get their help maybe we can stop his war together once and for all, maybe we can do something that can change the whole thing, maybe we can win.” Icey said.

The crowd was silent for a while. No one said anything for a while. Then a voice was heard from he crowd that only repeated quietly:

”Ice Warriors, Ice Warriors, Ice Warriors.”

Soon more people started saying it and then everyone started cheering ”Ice Warriors”. It was inspiring for everyone even for the owners. Icey smiled as he looked at his troops. Then when the cheering stopped I decided to talk.

”I guess everyone is in Icey. What do we do now?” I asked.

”It’s time we trained and we trained better than ever. This is for real now and we will be against a strong enemy. I need you guys to listen to our teachers. But that’s not all. We will need vehicles and weapons. We must all work together to collect parts and build them. We don’t have much time so we have to do it as a team, as a family, as the Ice Warriors.” Icey told everyone.

The troops started cheering again.

”Now everyone go and rest. Tomorrow we start everything and you have to be up early in the morning. Our schedules will be given to you by tomorrow morning. Dismissed.”

The crowd started gathering around. As I was about to leave when Icey stopped me.

”Mara hold on,” He said as he walked towards me.

”What is it Icey, can I help with anything?” I asked.

”Yes actually you can. I’m going to make an owner meeting and it’s really imporant. But the schedules must be done by tommorow. Can you do that for me?”

”Yes but how will I do it?”

”Honk will be making them you just have to help him, ok?”

”Of course.”

”Ok I’m going now.” Icey was in a hurry so he went inside to meet up with the other owners.

Honk stayed and came up next to me.

”Well then Mara I guess we will be working together for a while.”

”Yeah we will.”

Honk and I walked inside. We went to a long corridor and reached a room. Honk opened the door. It was a small room, but it was very clean. It had a desk with papers on it. There was a bed, a closet and even a fancy lamp on a table. There were lots of posters on the wall from ones had said ”Quite Mad” to ones with pictures of guinea pigs with a monocle and a fancy hat. He actually had 2 guinea pigs in their little cage on a table.

”I didn’t know you had pets,” I said as I went closer to the guinea pigs.

”Ah well how can you live here without guinea pigs,” Honk said with a smile.

”Nice room you have by the way.”

”Thank ye. now let’s get to work,” Honk said as he sat at his desk.

”Ok how can I help?” I asked

”Well first of all we need to write the names of the troops in each rank on separate lists. That way, we can have more people working on different things and it will be more organised. Each rank will have a schedule,” he explained.

”Sounds good.”

Honk and I started to get to work. We wrote names, we made schedules. Everyone had a different task. There were all sorts of things such as training, building, gathering materials and so on. I became tired as Honk and I worked until late in the night. As we were writing I stared to yawn and my eyes were starting to close.

”You helped me a lot old sport. Maybe you should go get some rest.”

”Are you sure? I can help some more if you need me to.”

”I’ll just finish off with these last few activities and I’ll be heading to bed myself. You need to rest. Tomorrow I will need your help again, and you will have activities to do. You can come here before sunrise so you can help me deliver the schedules to he troops.”

”Alright Honk, good night.”

”Tally ho.”

I walked out as I yawned again. I went back to my room. I felt lonely without Madison, but I was too tired to think. I just jumped in my bed and fell asleep. I was very tired. Then I woke up in the morning and I saw it was about to be sunrise.

”Oh great Mara, you overslept,” I said as I face palmed myself.

I quickly got up and got ready to go out. After I Took a shower I got dressed and ran quickly to Honks room. I knocked but no one answered. I opened he door slightly. Honk was on the bed snoring like an elephant and the schedules were on his desk.

”Honk?” I said as I walked in.

”Ah ye I’m awake I’m awake.” He said as he jumped out of the bed.

”Err sorry Mara I think I overslept.”

”It’s fine, I did too. I guess we were really tired.”

”I think we still are. It’s almost sunrise now let’s get those schedules delivered. Here take these and deliver them to each troop’s room. Their names and numbers of rooms are on he list. I’ll be with you shortly,” Honk said as he handed me a pair of the schedules.

”Ok Honk. See you soon.”

I walked outside and started putting the list of schedules on each door. One by one I put them on. No one was awake yet. As I was running out of schedules, I turned the corner and bumped into Honk. We dropped our schedules, not much were left.

”Sorry Honk didn’t see you there.”

”It’s fine I wasn’t paying attention myself.”

”Almost done with the schedules, I see you are too.”

”Yes indeed, now here’s your schedule.”

”Thanks Honk.”

”How about we go have breakfast before his mob wakes up and attack all the food,” Honk offered.

”Sounds good.” I answered.
