Once again, I’m here with another chapter of the story! Enjoy!

Chapter 6: Carry on Fighting

Raven made her way down to the floating arena, and waited patiently for her opponent to come. “What’s this thing called again?” she called questioningly to Tes.

“The Shifter Polygon!” As Tes answered Raven’s question, the creature appeared before the girl. She was slightly taken back, because unlike all the other Polygons, this was just a floating purple blob.

Uh…this is it? she thought, I assumed there would’ve been a catch to this thing… Suddenly, the blob descended to the ground and grew a little bigger, about the size of a cat. It then grew ears, paws and a tail. Finally, it opened up its red eyes and Raven found herself standing in front of a purple cat.

“What the…it morphed? I thought I was the only one that could cat morph around here!” Raven muttered under her breath. At least I know why it’s called the Shifter Polygon now… Before she could do anything else, the Shifter launched itself at her, kicking the girl in the face. Raven hit the ground with a thud before jumping back up…

…and morphing into a cat.

“Oh, you’re in for it now!” Raven hissed, unsheathing her claws. She pounced on the enemy, leaving stinging claw marks on its flank. It lay there for a moment, before grabbing Raven by the scruff with its teeth and slamming her to the ground head first.

The crowd winced a little as the copy began clawing Raven’s flank, the way she had done it earlier. Once it backed of, the girl was in stinging pain, and finding it a little hard to stand up.

In the box, everybody seemed surprised by how powerful a clone cat could be. “Raven!” one of them called out, “Don’t just give up!”

Back on the platform, Raven was rubbing her head in pain, whilst the Shifter stared her down, waiting for the next move. I can’t believe I’m getting my butt handed to me…by me! she thought, pulling her paw away from her head. Like Snow, she thought she saw what she thought was the symbol on the platform on her front paw, made with claw marks. Suddenly, something seemed to click in her mind, and she seemed suddenly determined.

Raven charged at the cat as it threw a claw at her. To everyone’s surprise, she rolled past the attack, and raked her claws on the enemy’s belly as she did so. The Polygon seemed taken by surprise by this as well. It turned around and lunged two claws at Raven, but she jumped and clawed the attacks out of her way. The cat girl threw her own claws at the clone, sending it sprawling on the ground. However, it wasn’t over yet.

Raven threw more and more attacks, shouting, “Do you like that? Because I’ve got more!” She then used her hind legs to gain power as she leapt through the air before she landed on the clone cat, her claws sinking into its body. As they went deeper and deeper, the Polygon Clone slowly faded into nothing.

Upon realizing she’d won, Raven changed back into a human, and cheered as the audience clapped and chanted her name. When she returned to the box, everyone other than Maid, who was somewhere else, congratulated her. Guido just stared in pure shock. “How did you do that?” he gasped.

Raven shrugged. “Actually, I have no idea. I’ll tell you a bit later.” she smiled. Before neither of them could speak again, Guido noticed Gtu was returning from the Medical Area. “Hey Gtu, I assume you’re feeling better?” Raven asked kindly.

“Yeah.” he replied, “The hospital service here is AMAZING.” He sat down and stayed silent for a moment when he realized one of the eight was missing. “Where did Maid go?”

“Oh, she took off after she won, but we don’t know where she went.” Guido replied, “She seems like the strong and silent type, not to mention how vicious she is in combat.”

I should really talk to her soon… Gtu thought to himself before hearing Tes’ loud voice. “Our next fight! Purple will be going up against the Dino Polygon!”

“That’s me!” grinned Purple as she walked confidently down the aisle and onto the platform. As she walked on, her opponent entered the fight as well. It was colored in a shade of black, like the night sky, and its red eyes glowed fiercely. Its body shape resembled a velociraptor. Although Purple’s eyes still shone with confidence, she seemed a bit unsure of her opponent as well. “Do I get another choice of enemy?” she asked.

Tes shook his head. “No. Now, fight!” As soon as he said that, the dino darted forward and struck Purple with its tail as it went past. She winced from the pain that the attack had caused, but before she could recover, the raptor did the same technique as before, knocking Purple onto her stomach. Her eyes widened as the creature charged forward.

She rolled out of the way of the charging raptor as it fell straight down the platform, letting out an inhuman shriek. Purple smiled in delight, thinking she’d won. “Thank you.” she called to the audience. However, she wasn’t aware that the raptor was teleported back onto the platform.

The Polygon lunged at Purple, biting her roughly on the back. She screamed in pain, running around and trying to shake the creature off her. Just then, she tripped, sending the raptor flying. It stood its ground, however, and lashed its tail at Purple’s feet, sweeping her off the platform.

Everyone in the box gasped, waiting to see what happened. The raptor wandered over to her and stepped on her hand, the only thing that was clinging onto the platform Purple cringed, and punched it on the foot. The Polygon was stunned for a few seconds, giving her just enough time to tackle it. It landed head first on the ground with a harsh thud. It slowly went limp under her weight, and faded away.

Completely chuffed by her victory, she jumped up and down a little bit in excitement, and with a large grin on her face, she returned to the box. “Nice work!” Snow complimented as she sat down.

“Thanks…” Purple replied sheepishly, “Part of me thought this fight wouldn’t go too well.”

“Well remind me not to get on your bad side!” The both of them laughed to themselves.

“Our next-to-last fight is Guido, who is up against the Thunder Polygon!” Tes announced, interrupting Purple and Snow’s little conversation.

The fans cheered for the young boy, but inside the box, he was sitting there with a horrified look on his face, his heart pumping out of his chest. “Oh, crap…” Guido muttered.
